The last day in America

Well its finally here, the last day I spend in America. This is really crazy I'm actually going to Japan! I'm pretty much packed, I still have a few electronic gadgets I want to charge all the way first. I'm really going to miss my family too. But it sounds like I'm going to be way too busy having the time of my life to get sad.

Chris is really funny about this whole thing because we are really close and he's going to cry when I'm gone but he gets my old room and can play wii and xbox any time he wants on my nice tv. So he keeps talking about how he can't wait to play spiderman friend or foe (just terrible game by the way).

Expect a nice video and lots of pictures with my next post!

1 week

Well its one week until I am on the plane towards Japan. Exciting but right now I'm starting to go through the realization that I wont see my friends and family for a really long time. I spent 4 days over at Heather and Rob's place and it was a lot of fun even though we did pretty much nothing at all. But as I drove away it hit me I wont be able to just hang out for a really long time. I'm really going to miss everyone.

I got my flight itinerary and my passport with the visa so the only thing left is waiting for that stupid wells fargo student loan to go through. It should at any moment now but I hate waiting on stuff like that.

2 weeks to go

Well I'm a mere 2 weeks from achieving a life long dream of mine of going to Japan. It's not just going to Japan I'm going to be living there for 9 whole months! I'm going to speak almost only Japanese, live with a Japanese family, and go to a Japanese college. I'll be able to buy any manga pretty cheaply, I'll be able to watch the newest anime on regular tv channels, and I'll be able to get all sorts of awesome merchandise. An otaku's dream right?

It feels weird though, like its not really happening. I have filled out all of the paperwork already paid $2000 in fees and what not, and know who my host family is but I'm still waiting to actually receive my passport back with my plane ticket, and to be billed for the tuition. Technically the ticket and passport could get lost in the mail and that cause a whole mess of problems and I could have loan issues with the tuition. Both are unlikely but until those are resolved I can't get 100% psyched up.

I've already quit work so that I would have enough time for friends/family and studying but man I'm having a hard time putting out the effort I need to study as much as I planned. Its a little annoying to know that actually being in Japan and being able to practice it with anyone I talk to means that I'll be able to learn at such a quicker pace then I can in America. I do open my book up everyday but I really should be doing more.
